What is Animal Communication?

Animal communication is telepathic communication. It can also be described as deepened intuition. All of us have intuitive capabilities, which we are aware of in day to day life, and these can be developed and expanded to become telepathic communication. At one time many people were able to communicate telepathically with other species. Although many humans have lost touch with this ability, most animals have not and are adept at communicating with each other, at distances as well as in each others presence.
Telepathic communication can manifest in many ways. Animals can send visual images, feelings, thoughts, ideas and sensations as communications. Sometimes these communications have words; sometimes they are just accompanied by a strong sense of how they fit together to form the communication. Animals are capable of communicating very complicated and deep ideas and feelings, and many communicate with great elegance.

Animal communication takes place without conscious reasoning and by means other than the normal sensory channels; it involves feeling at a distance and can involve transference of thought. In order for animal communication to take place one has to bypass the rational, linear mind. This is done by quieting the mind, allowing it to become as still and empty of thought and everyday “mind chatter” as possible. Meditation is an excellent way to quiet the mind and access the still, inner state in which animal communication can take place. My own path of re-connecting with my childhood ability to communicate with animals was through a combination of meditation practice and Reiki.

Telepathic communication is a natural ability for all beings. Although many humans have lost touch with this ability, there are some words in our language that relate to animal communication, such as “intuition” and “telepathy”, and we can use them as a starting point in describing what animal communication is and how it works. The dictionary definition of intuition is “the ability to perceive or learn things without conscious reasoning.” At some time all of us have had experiences of intuition; we “just know” something without knowing how we know; but we feel confident that what we know is true, and results or circumstances later confirm this perception. Dictionary definitions of telepathy include “feeling at a distance,” “communication by means other than the normal sensory channels,” and “transference of thought.”

When our thoughts are quiet and our mind goes still, we can become aware of these subtle phenomena, such as a peaceful, centered, or even ecstatic, inner state as well as communications from non-human beings. These communications go on around us all the time, but most people are not in a state to receive them. While the ability to access this state is natural and in-born for all beings, non-human beings generally find it easier to access this state because they have done so continuously and have not lost track of this ability as so many humans have.

When the mind is still and empty, a field of receptivity is created, in which the animal’s voices can be heard. Then all that is needed is to invite the animals to make use of that field. When the animals “speak,” it is also usually a subtle process; it is rarely a voice speaking clearly in full sentences in one’s head, although that can happen. More often it is a combination of subtle impressions. Releasing expectations is key to receiving communications from an animal. Many people have expectations about what animal communication is, but, in fact, becoming truly empty of expectation and thought is key.

There are immense rewards and excitement in communing intimately with the other species that share our planet. Their insights show a beauty, depth, and generosity to their natures far beyond what most humans are conditioned to believe is possible.
When an animal’s difficulties relate to past traumatic events, it can be very helpful to some animals to tell their story, thereby revisiting it in a safe environment and releasing its hold on their state of being, like humans do in therapy. For other animals this will be too intense, but they may benefit from voicing other concerns or seeking reassurances about their present situation. Behavioral problems often have roots in emotional issues and resolve quickly when these issues are addressed.

In addition, many animals take a strong interest in the spiritual and emotional growth of those they love and assume as part of their purpose in life the job of assisting beloved humans with the challenges they face. Sometimes the distress an animal is showing, whether expressed physically, emotionally, or behaviorally, is related to his concern about the welfare of a human loved one. When this concern can be expressed and understood, the person and animal can move on in their lives in greater health and with a deeper bond and understanding between them.

Communicating with animals assists with the practical day to day challenges facing them, enhances the understanding between species, and strengthens the bond between human and animal. As this bond is strengthened on the individual level, it contributes to healing the overall connection between humans and animals in our world
I communicate with animals first by clearing my mind of thoughts and other concerns to create a space for the animals to be heard, and then by encouraging them to share any thoughts and feelings they wish to make known. Animals communicate in many different ways, and each animal has an individual style of communicating, just as people do. The ways in which animals communicate can involve visual images, thoughts, words, feelings, sounds, and other sensations.

What I receive depends on the animal’s style and what he wants to make known. The way that I communicate is in some ways similar to translating from another language, in this case a language of energy and spirit. In addition, I often experience a sort of merging with the animal. In this merged state I can know and feel things from the animal’s perspective, on the emotional and spiritual levels and often on the physical level as well, and this leads to illumination of the situation from his perspective.
When I’m working with an animal, the animal often wants me to know more about his person or family so that I can understand his situation from a larger, holistic perspective. Animals who live closely with people are often concerned about the challenges in their people’s lives, and this concern can play a part in the difficulties that lead their people to seek a consultation.

The people I work with are as important to me as the animals, and I have great admiration for the way that animals and their people work together and help each other. The people I talk with are doing the very best they can for their animals. If I can assist them to shift in the direction of even greater understanding, intimacy, and health, it’s always very rewarding for me.

At the beginning of an appointment I ask a few questions to begin to develop a feel for the animal and the situation. As his person speaks about the situation and/or their life together, the animal begins to add his perspective to the conversation, and often other animal members of the household will offer their thoughts as well. People sometimes think that everything in an animal’s consciousness and memory banks is readily available to me, but in fact the animal is quite able to hold back anything he does not want to share or feels is irrelevant.

For instance, animals are very aware that certain matters are sensitive to their people, and they are invariably careful about keeping sensitive matters in confidence. They often take a short while to evaluate who I am and how their person is responding to me before they open up and participate. As they participate they are circumspect about what they reveal, if necessary, and find ways to give me the information I need to be of assistance without revealing matters that are sensitive to their people.
Some animals have a great deal to say and offer a wealth of information and impressions. Other animals have only a few important things that they want to make known. Regardless of how much or little an animal has to say, being able to express his thoughts and feelings and communicate directly to his person is usually tremendously beneficial and frequently a great relief to him.

In communicating with animals I never pressure them. I just make it clear that I’m available to listen and assist them in communicating with their human loved ones. As I talk with their people, I enter the animals’ world and let them offer what they want me to know in their own time and in their own way. I allow animals to evaluate the situation and me and reassure themselves that it is safe and comfortable to participate. In the long run this approach builds the greatest trust and leads to the greatest benefits for everyone.
As an animal communicator and as a healer it has always been important to me to respect animals’ wisdom and autonomy. Years of communicating with and healing animals have shown me that animals have their own wisdom about situations and about what they need and that it is generally quite precise and accurate. My goal is always for the animal to be a partner in the process we have undertaken, whether it is animal communication or healing. A truly integrative approach to healing animals respects the wisdom and autonomy of animals as fully sentient beings and takes into account their knowledge and preferences on all levels in designing a program of treatment for them. Deeper and broader healing is obtained in this way. I hope that as a culture we will move increasingly in this direction.

Because of my close connection to wild animals, I can help people to connect more fully with nature and the animals in nature with whom they feel a special connection, when this is something that interests them. I find that wild animals sometimes offer themselves as intermediaries to assist me in communicating with an animal if it seems that will be beneficial in some way. The wild animals of our world are more interested in and available for communion with us than many people think. They are usually very gratified by people’s desire to connect with them and give generously of themselves for the benefit of all of the earth’s inhabitants.
What Happens During a Consultation?
During the initial session, in person or by phone, I will usually ask a few questions about you and your animal and the matters that are concerning you. Because I am a visual person, if a photo of the animal is available, it would be very helpful to me to have one before the first session. If a photo of you, or of you and the animal together, is available, it would be helpful to me to have this as well. If photos are not available, we can still have a successful consultation.

During the first session I will offer any information I receive from the animal, help the animal to answer any questions you have for him, and offer feedback and/or recommendations for healing, if I feel they are appropriate and if you are interested in pursuing healing. There is never any pressure to do so. I approach each new animal and situation with a sense of excitement and adventure, and look forward to getting to know each person and animal.
Positive results are usually seen soon after the initial consultation. Often substantial improvement takes place in a short period of time, such as a few days or a week. Continued improvement generally takes place as the effects of the communication and any healing treatments are incorporated over the course of a few weeks to a few months.

How long is an appointment?
Initial appointments are generally 60 minutes.. Depending on the amount of animals Donna will be connecting with
There is the option of follow up questions, available after this initial session if need be @ $66 ( good for 1-3 questions).
Donna likes to have time to allow the animal to tell us what he or she wants us to know at his or her own pace. Animals are individuals and some may take a little while to become comfortable talking about important matters, especially if they have had abusive or traumatic experiences in the past.
Donna's experience has been that we will be able to understand your animal and his or her situation at a deeper, more healing level by allowing time during our appointment for the animal to become comfortable and for us to explore the situation at the depth and pace that best suits the animal.

What is the cost of an appointment?
The cost of all animal communication sessions are $100 per 60 minute session. Or $150 for 90 minutes..

Otherwise cancellation fees will apply.

Do you need a photo to communicate with an animal?
It’s very helpful to have a photo of your animal during an appointment. If there are other animals in your household, it’s helpful to have photos of them as well, since other animal members of the family sometimes have valuable perspectives to offer during an appointment.

How do I get my photos to you?
The best way to get photos to us is via email, or a picture message from your phone.
We will print these photos out to tune in and conduct a distant communication session.
Please note We don't require pictures for in-house consultations.

What do you need when you try to find missing animals?
If you are trying to find a missing animal, in addition to a photo of the animal, it’s helpful to me to have a map of the area where the animal was last seen. Some possibilities for obtaining a map include hand-drawing a simple map, which can be scanned and sent, or sending a map from maps.google.com

Should I make a list of my questions for my animal(s)?
Some people find it helpful to make a list of their questions and concerns before an appointment so they don’t forget any of them while we are talking. We are not limited to the questions you draft and will just follow where our conversation with the animal(s) leads us. You don’t need to send the list of questions to me ahead of time but you’re welcome to do so if you want.

Can I talk with more than one animal?
We can talk with as many animals as we have time for, Donna doesn't like to hurry any animal in order to get to all animals in one appointment. In my experience it’s better to schedule a second appointment if necessary and give each animal the time he needs to fully express him (or her)self.

Do I need to be with my animal when we talk?
Since animal communication takes place without regard to physical proximity or normal sensory channels, it’s not necessary for you to be with your animal during an appointment. You can be at work or away from home, but it is important that you are able to relax and give your attention fully to our appointment without interruption or concern about privacy.
In some cases the communication can be more effective without the guardian present.

What if you can't connect with my pet?
This is very rare. In fact this has never happened in the all the time Donna has been doing this.
She has met shy animals and animals that don't have much to say. The thing that can interrupt and jeopardise the communication, Is the human trying to put there humanised opinion on everything the animal is trying to communicate.
Please if you are taking the time to get a communicator in. Listen to what your animal has to say it can be quite humbling.
Please note RiverGem Readings & Reiki have a money back guarantee policy.
( Even though we have never had to use this, We believe this gives the client piece of mind)
